Bais Menachem Hebrew Academy supporters have passionately funded, and at times, constructed, our school ourselves. You and so many others like you have created an educational "home" for Austin’s Jewish children. Our biggest challenge is the need for tuition discounts. 55% of our families received financial aid during the 2006-2007 school year. Like many private schools, it takes a great deal more than the tuition paid to provide the education that these children deserve. Therefore, we must rely on grants, donations and fundraising to supplement programs and obtain additional funds for scholarships, and, of course, volunteers. In order to increase our tuition income, the PTA has begun a formal recruitment program this year to increase our tuition base. Facets of this program include holding recruitment events and increasing enrichment education, while holding tuition steady. We are confident that recruitment activities will strengthen our product and student body, while providing our students with a stimulating and well-rounded education. This year, we added formal electives for students in K-8, including technology (computers), library sciences, art, PE, nutrition/health, and student council. We are using volunteer instructors for electives whenever possible; however, additional funding is needed to pay some wage expenses and provide equipment. For example, in the past we had a wonderful volunteer music instructor; now, we need additional funding to continue this program. The Friends of the Bais Menachem Hebrew Academy Annual Fund has the following gift levels: Visionary....................................$5,000+ Benefactor...............$2,500 - $4,900 Builder.....................$1,000 - $2,499 Guardian..................$500 - $ 999 Patron......................$181 - $ 499 Donor......................up to $180 Alternatively, you may sponsor a child for one year of education, at $9,000.
